The Season of Advent

In the Anglican Church of Canada, Advent is a season of sacred waiting; in this time, we embrace the dual focus on Christ’s historical incarnation and the hopeful anticipation of His promised return. 

An advent wreath is placed at the front of the church and a candle is lit each Sunday during Advent. The four candles represent hope, preparation, joy and love. The Christ candle is lit on Christmas Eve.
