Our parish is getting a new organ!

Our current Casavant organ (fondly known as Cassie) has served us for over 83 years! We are replacing it with a brand new Makin – Custom Thirlmere digital organ.

The total cost of the project is $120,000. Our fundraising goal is $98,000. The $22,000 difference will be covered by our existing organ account. These are exciting times!

We ask you to please prayerfully consider making a financial contribution towards our new organ. You may donate in many ways:

  1. By cheque (made payable to St. Paul’s Anglican Church and clearly marked with “Organ Replacement Fund)
  2. Credit or debit card (using the POS terminal at the church)
  3. E-transfer to treasurer@stpaulsnanaimo.ca
  4. Online via Canada Helps at https://www.stpaulsnanaimo.ca/pages/give.

All donations will be acknowledged, and tax receipts will be issued.

Thank you so much for your support. This is our chance to make history with a beautiful new organ! Our plan is have the new organ installed in the church in the late spring/early summer of 2026.

Why a new organ?

It is no longer cost-effective to consider a refurbishment to our aging Casavant. A new more modern organ is much more affordable than refurbishing our beloved Cassie.

What will a new organ mean to St. Paul’s? It will:

  • attract qualified organists to give recitals
  • be a high quality practice instrument for organ students
  • provide enhanced accompaniment to our services of worship and uplifting leadership for the singing of hymns
  • be a showcase in Nanaimo with gorgeous acoustics in our church
